Cookie Policy

Effective: 23 June 2026

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences and keep you logged in between visits. Gobookka also uses browser localStorage — a similar mechanism that stores data locally on your device without an expiry date unless cleared manually.

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), cookies and similar tracking technologies that are linked to an identifiable individual are considered personal information. We handle this data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

2. Cookies we use

Gobookka uses essential cookies and storage (always active, required to run the site) and, only with your consent, analytics cookies(see §3). Analytics do not load and no analytics cookies are set until you choose “Accept” on our consent banner. We do not use advertising or behavioural-profiling cookies.

3. Third-party cookies

When you complete a payment through Gobookka, you interact with Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe may set its own cookies to prevent fraud and process your payment securely. These cookies are governed by Stripe's own Privacy Policy.

Analytics (consent-based): if you accept on our consent banner, Gobookka uses Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) to understand how the product is used and improve it. With your consent it sets Google analytics cookies (e.g. _ga and _ga_*, typically up to 2 years) and sends usage and device data to Google. We use Google Consent Mode so these tags stay disabled until you opt in. This data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We do not use Meta Pixel, HubSpot, Intercom, or any advertising trackers, and we do not collect names, emails, or phone numbers as analytics parameters.

Withdrawing consent: clear the ubk_consent cookie (or your site cookies) to be asked again, or decline when prompted. Declining leaves all analytics off.

4. Managing cookies

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. The steps vary by browser:

Note: Deleting the session cookies listed above will log you out of your account. Clearing localStorage will reset your dashboard preferences such as the onboarding guide state.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Gobookkaafter changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
